No.23 The end?

I think that the concept of this program is fantastic. I think you could spend alot of time exploring the sites and working on projects. I found a few useful tools that I will show my children and hopefully they will utilise these resources. The familiarity of all of these terms will be a confidence booster for myself and I won't feel as ignorant about the technology out there. I think if I had a need to use some of the things we learnt along the way I would have the confidence to tackle them now. I will probably only use one or two of these new tools but it is the understanding of it all that will help in my work.

Ebooks are absolutely amazing. I think they could change the face of libraries forever. I like the idea of downloading a book and it automatically expiring on its due date is fantastic. I don't think the printed format will ever die but the opportunity for books in a different format and to be so easily accessible is exciting. There is in fact a real virtual library.

You can search for anything you can think of on these podcasts. By RSS feeds you can keep up with broadcasts of your favourite programs. This would be a valuable tools for students as another method of obtaining information and research. Podcasts could be useful to direct people and instruct them. Having "Catalogue links to a podcast could also prove to be useful for research.

Google maps is amazing. There are lots of things to do and see on this website. You could utilise this website in the library and would be a valuable website to use. I liked the way it gives you written directions from one place to another. You can plan your trips and take the directions.

I really loved zoho writer What a great idea. Even if you haven't any microsoft applications you can use this site. You can even use it off -line which is handy. This could be useful in the libraries that only have one PC with word. You can still get your patrons to use this to create their document
