No.23 The end?

I think that the concept of this program is fantastic. I think you could spend alot of time exploring the sites and working on projects. I found a few useful tools that I will show my children and hopefully they will utilise these resources. The familiarity of all of these terms will be a confidence booster for myself and I won't feel as ignorant about the technology out there. I think if I had a need to use some of the things we learnt along the way I would have the confidence to tackle them now. I will probably only use one or two of these new tools but it is the understanding of it all that will help in my work.

No. 22

Ebooks are absolutely amazing. I think they could change the face of libraries forever. I like the idea of downloading a book and it automatically expiring on its due date is fantastic. I don't think the printed format will ever die but the opportunity for books in a different format and to be so easily accessible is exciting. There is in fact a real virtual library.

You can search for anything you can think of on these podcasts. By RSS feeds you can keep up with broadcasts of your favourite programs. This would be a valuable tools for students as another method of obtaining information and research. Podcasts could be useful to direct people and instruct them. Having "Catalogue links to a podcast could also prove to be useful for research.

Google maps is amazing. There are lots of things to do and see on this website. You could utilise this website in the library and would be a valuable website to use. I liked the way it gives you written directions from one place to another. You can plan your trips and take the directions.

No. 18 Web based apps

I really loved zoho writer What a great idea. Even if you haven't any microsoft applications you can use this site. You can even use it off -line which is handy. This could be useful in the libraries that only have one PC with word. You can still get your patrons to use this to create their document

No. 17 PBWikis

No. 17 I have used the dandbox before and it is very handy to practice with and have a play.

No.16 Wikis

No.15 Library 2.0

Library 2.0 is an exciting time for libraries. Change that has occured in libraries for the past 20 years has been amazing and the pace has only picked up. The change is driven by our users and the tools of preference. How can the library keep pace with the technology and be of assistance to its users? Staff need to be conversant with the technology and have the ability to work around it and to utilise it to its potential for its client.
Change truelly is the development of the service.

No.14 Technorati Tagging

This exercise was interesting to see that you got a different number of hits for tags and directory. This I assume is from the tags that people can create for their blog and the directory is when you claim your blog the tag is found from the directory. The ability to search all of these blogs is amazing and can make all of these blogs a useful research and communication tool. You can see what is a trend and popular and its really up to date. This is very useful

No.13 Tagging

This would be a vey useful tool especially if you do work from many different locations. Academic students would find it useful as well.

I think you could use this application several ways. If you were looking for a job It could be quite useful if you listed a few sites and also it is a way to communicate with your family and friends if they use my space or similar. It would notify you if they have changed anything. I am going to keep in touch with Anne's blog so I can keep track of it. Anne's a classic.
